Usps to suspend mail delivery Thursday

The United States Postal Service will suspend mail delivery and retail services on Thursday, January 9, in observance of a national day of mourning for former President Jimmy Carter. The USPS announced that regular mail delivery and retail services will be halted to honor the former president. However, limited package delivery services will still be provided on that day.

Normal retail, delivery, and collection schedules will resume the following day, Friday, January 10, 2025.

For those needing postal products and services, stamps will still be available at most grocery, pharmacy, and convenience stores.

The USPS website also offers 24/7 access to most postal services. These services include looking up ZIP codes, tracking packages, buying stamps, holding mail, printing postage online, submitting a change of address, scheduling package pickups, and finding USPS locations, including self-service kiosks. To keep track of mail and packages, USPS encourages customers to sign up for the Informed Delivery service on their website.
