Comedian Nikki Glaser hosted the 82nd Annual Golden Globes on Sunday night. Some celebrities are nervous if her past jokes are anything to go by. Glaser, 40, made headlines last May for her wisecracks on the live Netflix special “The Roast of Tom Brady.” But that roast wasn’t the first time Glaser aimed at some of the world’s biggest A-listers.
Glaser has appeared in multiple Comedy Central roasts. She skewered stars like Rob Lowe, Bruce Willis, and Alec Baldwin. During Rob Lowe’s roast in 2016, Glaser said, “Rob defies age … God, I had such a crush on you when I was a little girl.
If only I had known that’s when I had my best shot.”
At Bruce Willis’ roast in 2018, Glaser joked about Martha Stewart. “Martha Stewart, thank you for being here … I’m a huge fan, and my mom is an even bigger fan.
Glaser’s legacy of fearless roasting
My mom has learned everything from Martha Stewart, including cooking, cleaning, and withholding affection.”
Glaser’s sharp wit was fully displayed during Alec Baldwin’s roast in 2019. She said, “Alec Baldwin, what an honor to be here roasting Justin Bieber’s wife’s oldest, fattest uncle.
I’ll never forget that voicemail when you called your daughter Ireland a thoughtless little pig. It’s got to be one of the worst things you can call your daughter — after Ireland. That name, yikes.”
Most recently, Glaser earned top marks for her roast of Tom Brady in 2024.
“Tom Brady, five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns, you have seven rings. … Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back. Tom, the only thing dumber than you saying yes to this roast was when you said, ‘Hey, babe, you should try jujitsu.'”
Looking ahead to the Golden Globes, fans and celebrities alike can expect more of Glaser’s biting humor.
She told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this week, “I think I have nine shows between now and Sunday because I want to keep testing out jokes and I want to keep getting the monologue in the most perfect place it can be.
Glaser’s fearless approach left a lasting impression at The Golden Globes last night.
