David Lynch’s children Jennifer, Austin, Riley, and Lula Lynch paid tribute to their father following his death on January 15th. They invited fans worldwide to join in a “worldwide group meditation” on January 20th, which would have been Lynch’s 79th birthday. The family said in a statement, “David Lynch, our beloved dad, was a guiding light of creativity, love, and peace.

On Monday, January 20th—what would have been his 79th birthday—we invite you all to join us in a worldwide group meditation at 12:00pm NOON PST for 10 minutes.”

They continued, “Let us come together, wherever we are, to honor his legacy by spreading peace and love across the world. Please take this time to meditate, reflect, and send positivity into the universe. Thank you for being part of this celebration of his life.”

Lynch died after suffering from emphysema and complications related to the Sunset Fire near his home.

The initial family announcement read: “It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch.

Honoring Lynch through global meditation

We would appreciate some privacy at this time.

There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us. But, as he would say, ‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ It’s a beautiful day with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way.”

Hollywood mourned the loss, with tributes pouring in from industry figures. Nicolas Cage hailed Lynch as “a singular genius in cinema, one of the greatest artists of this or any time,” while Kyle MacLachlan credited Lynch for his career and life.

Before his passing, Lynch was working on a new limited series for Netflix. Although health issues prevented the project from being completed, Netflix co-CEO mentioned their eagerness to work with Lynch. On January 20th, fans and admirers of David Lynch are invited to join his children in a special meditation as a tribute to his lasting legacy.
